Wednesday, October 10th - overnight in hospital

Around 11:30am, while sitting at work, I experience sort of a twinge-y pulling sensation in my pelvis, in the uterine area; but it went away instantly. It happened again around 12:50 while sitting at lunch, and again at 1:15 while sitting at my desk. The feeling was getting more noticeable and disruptive. A sharp squeeze and then gone.
I had a Parent Teacher Interview at my child's school at 2:15pm and was supposed to walk there. I wondered if I should go but thought I would try and since if the walk helped.
Walked a few blocks to my child’s school, had the meeting and walked back (1:45-3:00) without issue.
Left the office at 3:00 for my coffee break with a friend. Walked a few blocks down to Chinatown. Had the pain once while walking to Chinatown, once walking back, and once re-entering the office building. The pain was starting to take my breath away and make me feel lightheaded when it occurred (almost like when your circulation is cut off and then released, like a squeezing dimness) but would instantly vanish.
I left work early to go home for the day at 3:30, had maybe four pains on the 6 block walk home. The pain was definitely more on the left side in the groin/hip area of my pelvis. Took my breath away but instantly vanished.
I asked my mother to drive me to the emergency room when she was off work, we arrive at Victoria General around 5pm. I had blood work, urine sample, ct scan of my abdomen with contrast (at this point I had an IV line established), and an ultrasound of my ovaries. The CT scan showed my left ovary was enlarged and denser than my right, the ultrasound showed fluid around the ovary. I had another set of pain, more than a dozen in a row over the course of roughly 8:30p-9:15p. The emerg doctor (Dr. Reinier-Pope) was concerned about possible intermittent ovarian torsion. I spoke with the OB on call Dr. Bos, she said my story was unusual but the only way to know if it was torsion would be to do an investigative laparoscopy, and she didn't want to operate on me unnecessarily. She also said she didn't want to put me in any pain but wanted to see me in pain to get a better sense of what was happening. I was admitted and we would see what the OB on the next day thought about it. I was given morphine and spent the night in the emergency dept. Slept fine.
